Aletra Capital Partners buys Flanders Informatics Trade NV

HCW

January 2006

FIT (www.hcw.be) specializes in computer books, software and software licenses, but also sells hardware accessories.

The company’s over 100,000 book titles that cover a wide range of topics in great depth, as well as its more than 3,000 software titles, give FIT a strong image. FIT serves both SMEs and private individuals, via a chain of five retail outlets (“Het Computerwinkeltje”), via internet sales (www.hcw.be) and via business-to-business sales.

FIT generates almost €15 million in sales and has a sound track record for strong, profitable growth. The company’s objective is to continue expanding its concept by means of organic growth and acquisitions in both Flanders and the Netherlands. The result will at least double the company’s turnover. Since the acquisition, stores have been opened in Leuven and Schoten (Antwerp).

Aletra is working closely with Patrick Tournoy (formerly of Bain & Company and Procter & Gamble) who has taken on responsibility for the day-to-day management of FIT following the acquisition.

Aletra Capital Partners BV is a hands-on investment company. Its founders and owners are Pieter Maarten Feenstra and Geert Postma who together have extensive experience in investment banking (Goldman Sachs, AIB), consulting (Bain & Company, McKinsey & Company) and management (KNP BT).
